Description
Do you have little time, but want to see and experience everything that Tokyo has to offer? Then this tour is perfect for you! We will go past all of Tokyo’s highlights throughout the day, and one of our guides will accompany you for a full eight hours.
What Is There in Store For Me?
We will start the day in Asakusa, where you can get a glimpse of what Tokyo must have looked like hundreds of years ago while we crisscross the busy shopping district with a lot of artisan shops. You will get to experience the sounds and smells that go along with this ancient environment. Then we will go to iconic temple Sensoji; a ‘must see’ if you go to Tokyo. Your visit to this magical place cannot be complete if you don’t have at least one picture in front of this amazing temple.
We continue our way along the Sumida river either by boat or by train to head for the Hamarikyu Gardens, where we will enjoy the precisely manicured gardens, and of course, drink a cup of authentic matcha tea (green foamy tea prepared the original way) while enjoying the majestic view over the pond. Here you can see the clash between the modernity of the high rises behind the park and the traditional side of the gardens and the tea house itself.
From Shimbashi we head to Omotesando and Harajuku to be amazed by all the different clothing styles and the people that wear them! From the hustle and bustle, we then go back to the quiet of the Meiji Jingu shrine and its surrounding park. This shrine is completely different from the Sensoji temple. It is not as flashy, and much more modest than the Sensoji temple and is a popular wedding spot. We might even run into a couple ready to do their photo shoot after their wedding ceremony. Brides and grooms are mostly dressed in traditional Japanese wedding kimono, so this is definitely a place you will want to see.
Where Does This End?
Well, that is up to you! We usually go to Shibuya and see the busiest cross section in the world. Once there, your guide will show you the best vantage point to make that unique picture, and we will also stop by to see Hachi the famous dog.
If you are more interested in a culinary experience we can go to Ginza and you can smell and taste the best that Tokyo has to offer in terms of food. We will go to the food court in one of the oldest department stores in Tokyo where you can see a cross-section of what Japanese people like to eat. Of course, there will be an opportunity to taste some as well! Don’t be shy!
So whatever you desire for your unique Tokyo experience, we will try and make it come true!
